Automatic Irrigation Systems

This letter is to inform you the installation of automatic sprinkler systems linked to the Municipal Water Supply shall be prohibited. This includes all new construction. Lots should be sized accordingly to accommodate a well if the owners elect to install a lawn sprinkler system. Lawn sprinklers are allowed if connected to their own private well supply. No interconnections between potable and non-potable water sources are permitted under Massachusetts Drinking Water Regulations 310 CMR 22.22 cross connections. Unapproved Source shall mean the source or distribution system for any water or other liquid or substance which has not been approved by the Department as being of safe and sanitary quality for human consumption, including but not limited to any waste pipe, soil pipe, sewer, drain, or non-acceptable potable water system material.
